Gobbler Grind Half Marathon was a SUCCESS!!!

The Gobbler Grind Half Marathon was Sunday Nov. 22nd and it was AWESOME this year. Although many of us forgot just how hilly this course was, we embraced it! I was very excited to PR this race with a 1:53. Many friends ran this race this year, and it made it so much more exciting to see their accomplishments...Way to go Jen Walker and Sara Carson and Suzy Hay...so proud of you guys!

Suzy and I right before the start...we look a little cold, but after we started running, we were very warm!

The gang...Bob, me, Jeff, Juls, Aimee, Ash, Amy, Shay, and Suzy

6am at my parents house right before we headed out the door to the race!

Part III of Karli's Birthday

Karli had just a few girls over Friday night to celebrate her 7th birthday. It was so nice having a small crowd this year, and very "easy". We beaded pink and black necklaces, embellished sleeping masks, dipped strawberries and pink marshmellows in a chocolate fountain, did hair and make up, watched movies, and had a campfire...wow just saying all that makes me tired. (thanks to my good friend Jeanne for the great b-day idea :-))
W
e had a GREAT time.

Part II of Birthday week!

We celebrated a family party for Karli Monday night. I attempted a "Hello Kitty" cake, per Karli's request...and have to say, "please someone keep me out of the baking business"!
Karli received gift cards, and her most favorite gift, a "hot pink" real digital camera!

Karli's Birthday week

Karli's birthday week started on Monday....... and it started with our first snowfall. I cannot remember it ever snowing this early...but it was exciting and a great way to start the week. I was able to bring Karli some balloons and McDonald's for lunch, and then we enjoyed birthday treats at school together.

My Baby Girl is 7!

Karli turned 7 years old today....I have to say I am a little sad. She is officially into her elementary years, and this is hard for me.

Seven years today during the Nebraska/KSU football game Karli decided to enter into the world.
Let's just say I was a 9, before the epideral arrived...WHY..........the football game of course. Anyway...... delivered Karli pretty much without any drugs at 36 1/2 weeks. This gorgeous petite thing...came in weighing 5 pounds 15 ounces, and could not have been more perfect.

She is now a whooping 48 pounds..and loves her friends, dancenastics, tennis, and her new found love .......Basketball. She also has amazing inner beauty and always puts others before herself (love that quality!!). I am super proud to be her Mother :-)!

Halloween Dancenastics Performances

Both girls had their Halloween dancenastics performances this week. They performed to the Micheal Jackson song "Thriller". They worked hard and their efforts paid off. Karli performed with a fractured middle finger (that kid is so tough), and Kiersten performed after being ill for 4 days. All in all I am glad they were able to do it!

The first graders performed an AWESOME "scarecrow" musical this week at Karli's school. Karli enjoyed singing silly Fall songs. All I can say is 2 scarecrow day's down...one to go!

Dress up like your favorite bible character

The kids have been attending AWANA at a local church here in town, and last night was "dress up like your favorite bible character night". The kids had fun wearing angel and Shepherd costumes.
For those of you who are unsure what AWANA is: "Awana is a program that helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ" http://www.awana.org

Weston's BIG RED BARN Farm

This past weekend, we headed to Weston, Missouri to the Big Red Barn Farm. It was a lot of fun. The girls were able to ride pony's, get lost in a maze, and pet animals.

Waddell & Reed Marathon

This weekend, my running partners and I decided to try out a "marathon relay" in Kansas City. We thought it would be fun, and we would use it as part of our training run, for our upcoming Disney Marathon. WOW!! ......was it interesting! Just the logistics alone to try and figure out what exchange point to be it and at what time, and then to try and get back to the finish line, was enough to make your head spin.

We made it....and with an average pace of 8:08/minute miles we finished in 3 hours and 33 minutes. We were pretty pumped...this also means a 1st place finish in the woman's relay division, so we were pretty excited!

Overall, I am glad to be done, but another marathon relay, will probably NOT be in my future :-)...run on friends!!!!!

Kade's 1st Preschool Field Trip

I seriously cannot believe my little guy had his first field trip today.!!!! He is only 3 and took his 1st bus ride to a pumpkin patch this afternoon! All he seemed to care about was that bus...he was ecstatic he was finally going to ride in that Big Yellow vehicle. I had told him he had to be 5 to ride a while back, so when this field trip came up, I thoroughly think he tried to prove me wrong...and guess what...he did! He LOVED every minute of it, and NEVER turned his "motor" off!
