Kiersten's "Klassy Kittens" dance team performed Saturday night at the National Armory. The event was a charity for underprivileged kids. Kiersten practiced extremely hard for this, and her efforts definitely paid off! WAY TO GO GIRLS!

A Soccer Filled Weekend...............

Kiersten's Little Apple Soccer club hosted a tournament in our town over the weekend. The girls U9 team played all weekend long. They have come a long way, but still have a lot of work to do. Overall, Soctt and I enjoyed watching Kiersten play. I guess we are official "soccer parents" now!

Garden City Family Reunion

Scott's side of the family was able to gather together this August for a family reunion.

Wow there was a lot of kids...and all of these kids came from 4 moms (19 kids total...YIKES).

The amazing part is that they were are meticulously well behaved. Family came in from Arizona, Missouri, and Kansas to get together!

What an amazing time was had on the farm....zip line, capture the flag, playhouse, pool, golf carts and ...no one should forget our adorable cat we found at our hotel room! (BTW...he is doing great, and we all adore him at the Gillam household)

1st Day of Preschool

Oh my goodness....I thought I was ready for my little man to embark on the "whole" preschool experience, but I have to say...with Kade being my last child, it was pretty difficult (for Mom)...he did fine course. The 1st day they got out the shaving cream and snacks, and Kade was in heaven! He even got to check out library books from the Panda library today...too cool!

The BEST Teachers......

I could not have asked for better teachers for my girls this year. Karli has the amazing Mrs. Monaco, and Kiersten has Mrs. Kim Harper. Love both of these ladies...this is going to be a GREAT year!

Frst Day of School

School started last week for the girls. I cannot believe I have a FIRST AND THIRD grader. Time is flyin by!

The joys of owning a second home.....

Last week an 80 mph storm blew through our little cabin community of Council Grove, and this was the damage our lake house encountered. Although it could have been worse.....it will still be a BIG clean up job! Aghhhh the JOY!

Look what the cat drug in.........

Himself.....that's who! Okay! Okay! I know some of you are cursing me right now. Yes, we just sold our sweet little puppy on Craigs list, and now we are the new owners of a CAT-WHAT! I am not even a cat person. So here's the scoop...we were in Dodge City, KS this past weekend for a family reunion, and when we got back to our hotel room there was this cat right in the middle of the parking lot (blocking our car), and it would not move (fate right???) So, once we finally parked, my kids ran up to the cat and started loving on it.

I then realized our hotel was a "pet" friendly hotel, and figured it was a hotel guest that had simply let the cat out for some fresh air. Well, no one claimed this cat, and the front desk did not know who it belonged to, so we brought it up to our room for some playtime with the kids (hey we needed some entertainment at this point). Ok...the cat spent the night and I thought we would just simply put him back outside in the morning...could we do that to this poor little cat...NO. Thus, this is how we came about our little "tiger" or "boots", or "mitts", or whatever my kids feel like calling it today!

P.S. we did take him to the vet today, to check if he had a micro-chip thingy in his neck, and nope...so I guess he's ours......but don't hold your breath, he may be a victim of Craigs list or even Angie's list...we will do our best!

Brew to Shoe RaCe!

I have to chaulk this race up as my WORST time-wise (no PR's here!)...but my most fun! There was so many AMAZING peeps that ran yesterday. Although record Heat (95 degree heat index)and Wind (25 mph) made the day pretty un-Bearable, we all finished in one piece, and the race finish was a blast. Free Pizza, Beer, rock climbing wall, kids 1 mile fun run, and a ton of free prizes. Much fun was had by ALL!

The girls and I had a little "GIRL TIME" yesterday as we were able to attend the Jonas Brothers/Jordin Sparks concert in K.C. My girls were not to sure what to expect, as this was their first concert! Kiersten had no trouble finding her groove, however Karli just thought it was loud, but the lights and water effects were amazing!

Back in May I gave Scott some concert tickets for his birthday, and this week we were able to drudge up some old memories by way of some 80's Rock n Roll. The bands Def Leppard and Poison came to the Kansas City Sprint Center. We had a fun time catching up with old and new friends. Happy Belated Birthday to Scott, who is still a little rock n roll to me!
