FAIR TIME 2010

This is definitely not my favorite time of year, but my kids certainly look forward to the games and the rides every year. I realized I did not even get my camera out until the pony rides (oh well.....) Typical carnival........they seem to always empty my wallet every year, and all we have to show for it is a few stuffed animals (go figure)!

Lily and Jack

My niece and nephew have been visiting from the Colorado for the past 5 weeks and boy have we had some fun with these kiddos! Nearly every activity we have done, has been around water...these kids are water babies! Water park after water park, pool after pool, and of course plenty of lake time. These cousins have a "blast" together! We will miss them dearly when they head back home.

Caynon Cove Water Park

We headed to Canyon Cove water park in Salina yesterday. This place is brand new and so much fun. They have 4 waterslides, family slide, wave pool, lap pool, diving board/high dive area, and a toddler water area. We can't wait to go back!

Deb Patterson Basketball Camp

Kiersten and the "amazing " ASHLEY SWEAT

Kiersten got to know the KSU BB players a lot this week as she participated in the KSU Deb Patterson BB camp. This was a 4 day overnight camp. Her coach was Jalana Childs! She learned a lot of ball handling techniques, played 3 on 3 games, and had friendly competitions. The KSU ball players actually lead this camp, and stayed with them in the dorms. The kids seemed to have an AWESOME time and Kiersten is already making plans for next year!

Run-Shunga Day 5K

This past weekend I participated in a small 5K in Council Grove. I do not usually run short distances-but I thought this was for a great cause and a way to support our beloved lake town! Race day was '"of course" hot and humid, and the start of the race was 82 degrees (too hot for this mama). My goal was to run 7:25/min. miles, but I only managed one mile at that pace, and then the heat took its toll. I was fortunate to place first in my age group (a 1st for me...). It was a fun experience and a joy to share this experience with young Megan Ochoa.

Kalediscope Visit

We were able to sneak to Kalediscope, the Hallmark museum, and the Crayola Cafe last weekend after Grandpa's b-day party. Nate was visiting from Chi town and...as always...we have a BLAST when Uncle Nate is around!!!!

Why am I so bothered by this photo????

Happy 90th Birthday Grandpa!

My family was so fortunate to celebrate my Grandpa's 90th birthday this past weekend. What a wonderful milestone, and a huge blessing to have both my grand-parents still in my life. Happy Birthday Gramps!

Hospital Hill Race 2010

Another HOT and HUMID Hospital Hill run. I opted out of the Half marathon and did the 10K this year do to a hip injury. It was just as hilly as the half, but oh so much shorter :0)! My running friends and I had so much fun running into so many Manhattan people at this race. We had a GREAT time, and always enjoy the challenge of this hilly course

Never to early for a little Tad's sno cones.....

Our favorite summertime treat is Tad's-Yum-mmmmy! The kids and I stopped off yesterday to cool off with some bubblgum, apple mash, and cotton candy slushies. SOOOOOO GOOOOD!

Karli Year End sleep over

Karli invited a couple of good friends to spend the night last week. These "soon to be 2nd graders" were AWESOME! We went swimming, ate pizzas, made ice cream sundaes, and did some art! The girls went right to sleep and even slept in til nearly 8am-WOW!
