Scott and I have been helping out with bible school at our church this week. We are leading 9 year old boys (wow-they are busy!) The theme is Inside Out and Upside down. The kids have been learning about compassion, forgiveness, and grace.

Fun with Yeast

A seasoned 4H'er named Thersea helped the girls get prepared for the Riley County fair by making yeast recipes with them this week. They made AWESEOM pretzels, and diner rolls. Thanks Theresa for the help and encouragement :)!

20th High School Reunion

Wow! Where did 20 years go. Scott and I traveled up to Minnesota this past weekend to attend (or crash), my HS reunion. I say crash, because technically I did not graduate with this class. My parents moved my family to Kansas City right before my senior year of high school-so I really graduated from KC-but my heart always remained in Minnesota, and all of my friends that I went to grade school, and middle school are there. Friday night we went to Allsion's house and met up with friends for dinner, Saturday we visited friends, and then attended the reunion festivities that night. Super Night-Super Fun!

Only at the Lake....

can a 14 year old drive a jetski, and only at the lake would we let our 5 year old ride with the 14 year old. Thanks Nick, Kade had a blast, but the question is were you driving or was he ?!!???!????

4H Camp

I dropped Kiersten off at 4H camp this past week! She is getting so grown up! I have to admit I did shed a small tear after leaving her!

MARATHON training starts this week...Time to train

Running the Chicago Marathon? It’s time to start training - Chicago Sun-Times

Many of you know I ran the Chicago marathon in 2007. It was my first and my worse. The race was canceled due to a severe heat wave. Runners got dehydrated, one person died, and over 300 went to the E.R. http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1669408,00.html
Most of my running friends and I were able to finish the race, but we all felt defeated and upset with the turn of events. So with that said, it is time to face the "BEAST" again and give it another shot. I have an agenda and a very important date on October 9, 2011. Time to put on my game face...17.5 weeks -BRING IT!

While the girls are busy at riding lessons...Kade and I find other things to do out at Dry Creek Farms...you may think he is playing with mud.....but there is some horse *!????** mixed in , and yes it is all over the girls shoes, and all over my car-ARGHHH!

More lake FUn!

Our lake weekends are in FULL swing.....with PIG roasts, tubing, and church services right on our boat-life is great. We had a fun-filled weekend.....a shout goes out to Zach P. for organizing the worship service-he had bulletins, donuts, and juice boxes.

FYI... I just love summertime freckles-so adorable!!!

Memorial Weekend 2011

Our weekend started off on Saturday with fishing at the lake and then we headed to a little waterslide at our friends cabin-hooked up with good friends Sunday, as well as hung with my folks for a couple of days. On Monday, some Manhattan friends joined us for a little R&R , and the weather was CRAZY-with 40-50 mph wind gusts. It didn't stop us though...from having a great relaxing day! All in all good times-with GREAT people!

Good Times in Vegas!

We were able to sneak away last week and head to Viva Las Vegas for Scott's 40th Birthday. It was of course "eventful", as our flight there was canceled last minute due to bad weather in Dallas. So, we drove to Kansas City, and headed to Chicago of all places. We met up my brother and Morgan for a quick dinner and then headed out to Vegas early the next morning. All in all fun times with good friends, great weather and we even saw a few celebs!
